THERE’S NEVER A DULL MOMENT WITH SHEEP!

Living on a farm, there’s always an adventure to be had. Every year, we breed
around 1,200 sheep - and they love to keep us on our toes. But it’s not only sheep.
We have breeding cattle (who are extremely inquisitive and love to lick
you when you’re not looking). A couple of mischievous pigs who love to
escape. And a house of hens who will supply you with fresh eggs for breakfast.

We want to share all this with you.

We love farming and the countryside. Easter Craigduckie is a traditional family beef and sheep farm which has been farmed by the Roberts family since 1968.  We are passionate about farming and the countryside and feel very lucky to have such a wonderful setting to bring up our two boys.  

Craigduckie is farmed in conjunction with other rented land and is the main homestead for the sheep enterprise with approximately 1,000 breeding ewes lambing each year.   There is never a dull moment with sheep!  The breeding cattle stay at a different farm although some young cattle are kept here through the year and they are quite inquisitive and love to lick you with their huge tongues.  We sometime have pigs too which cause great hilarity when they escape! There is a hen house beside the Shepherds Huts and you are welcome to collect the fresh eggs for breakfast and feed the hens.

We work hard to produce Quality Assured Beef and Lamb and feel that it is hugely important that everyone knows exactly where their food comes from and what goes into producing it.   All of the cattle and sheep born here are either kept for breeding or finished by us on a diet of grass and homegrown cereals.  This allows us to tell the whole story of the food we produce from beginning to end.
